Why should you consider subscribing to Legalese?

That is a handsome question!

Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update. You get notifications sent right to you. Whether you want notifications whenever I post any new content, or if you want curated notifications for just articles, just videos, just podcast episodes, or some combination of those various types of content a free subscription allows you to curate your notifications to your personal tastes.

Stay up-to-date

You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Only On Substack can you find all the content I create in one site. Get the Legalese Podcast in video or audio-only, as well as an archive blog posts and published articles.

Free subscribers also get access to the notes, threads and chat features on Substack that provide additional updates such as advanced notice on when the live premieres of new episodes of Legalese are scheduled.

You also get more direct access to get in contact with me, and it allows you to meet and communicate with the community of other subscribers to Legalese.

Support the channel

I am committed to keeping the blog and podcast freely available to everyone. But if you appreciate my work I would be grateful if you would consider putting your support behind this channel.

The more of my subscribers who are able to support my content the more I can focus my time on giving subscribers more quality content, more often.

Your support really spurs my interest in writing and content creation, and it has made my sense of duty to you, the readers, infinitely stronger. The truth is that most of what I write today, even outside the paywall, is written first and foremost because I feel an affection and obligation toward the paying subscribers. They are my patrons, in the old Renaissance sense. Everyone else? You are the beneficiaries of their generosity.

So the first and best reason to join the pay list is because you like my content and want more of it! Joining the pay list leads directly to more new, high-quality content from me!

Substack told me I really shouldn’t try to sell paid subscriptions to my writing for less than $7/month or $70/year. So my paid subscriptions cost… $5/month or $50/year. (Sorry, Substack, but thank you for believing in me more than I believe in me!)

That’s not to say there is no extra benefit to subscribing. Paid subscribers get guaranteed topic requests. I get a lot of suggestions and requests for topics people would like me to cover. I seriously consider all requests and I’m often happy to oblige. But topic requests from my paid subscribers are always granted and given priority status within the cue of topics I am working on at any given time.

Paid Subscribers also get access to my private FantasySCOTUS League.

FantasySCOTUS is the leading Supreme Court Fantasy League. Thousands of attorneys, law students, and other avid Supreme Court followers make predictions about cases before the Supreme Court. You can follow my predictions throughout the Supreme Court term and go head-to-head in friendly competition with your own predictions.
